J.A. “Tony” Reyna | Founder and CEO

Tony created Texican Inc. in 1990, following a successful career specializing in healthcare receivables management and early out services. He earned the reputation as a “Hired Gun” responsible for implementing turn-around and revenue cycle process improvement recommendations resulting from the analysis of the Big 8 consulting firms. Tony soon began to assemble a collection of revenue cycle experts that possessed the ability to get their tasks completed, train, motivate and mentor staff in revenue cycle processes. All actions were meant to increase net revenue, accelerate cash flow and reduce expense.

His ability to lead, motivate and just “get it done” facilitated the building of Texican’s reputation. It is said that people hire in their own likeness and Tony has been fortunate to continuously find the right members for Texican’s Team.

Christopher Andrew | Senior Director of Business Development

Chris drives the strategic development and oversight of Texican’s account relationships and business partnerships.

Chris brings more than 25 years’ experience in healthcare revenue cycle sales leadership, and has successfully developed and led strategies for major account development for several consulting and accounts receivable management firms. He is a past President of the Arizona HFMA Chapter and has served on numerous state, regional, and national strategic planning and program development committees for HFMA.

Gary Sexton | Information Technology Manager

Gary develops and delivers business analytics and intelligence that are specific to client engagements and key to identifying issues and opportunities impacting the revenue cycle.

Gary brings nearly 40 years’ experience in the healthcare industry to his role. His background includes the development of numerous technology products designed to focus and direct collections, pre-registration, and various quality assurance and auditing activities. During his time with Texican, he has worked with data from over 40 different hospitals throughout the United States.

Maureen Callahan | Senior Manager

Maureen is a Senior Manager with expertise in onsite project management. Maureen has worked with nationally recognized medical centers, regional multi-facility healthcare facility healthcare organizations, and medical groups. Maureen’s extensive knowledge of many legacy information systems allows her to identify and employ underutilized modules to develop automated solutions for problematic process issues. Through her extensive collection experience, Maureen develops successful solutions to improve and maintain increased cash flow. Her expertise covers every facet of the revenue cycle, as well as its impact on clinical and financial departments.

Patrick Fullenwider | Senior Manager

Patrick is a Senior Manager certified in Epic Resolute patient accounting technology. He brings 25 years of in-depth revenue cycle experience in leading accounts receivable turnarounds and project improvement teams to hospitals, long-term care facilities, home health, skilled-nursing facilities, ambulance services, and physician practices. Patrick’s projects include streamlining accounts receivable workflows, enhancing transaction efficiency and building sustainable financial improvements.  His contributions and experience have resulted in the reduction of days in accounts receivable and increases in cash-to-net revenue collection rates.

Vee Landry | Senior Manager

As a Senior Manager, Vee performs operational assessments, identifies key process issues and develops and implements best-practice solutions for both hospital and physician medical group revenue cycle operations. Vee has over 30 years of management consulting and leadership experience. Her experience ranges from large multi-specialty physician groups to academic-based physicians. Vee designs and implements solutions and procedures to streamline workflow, improve key process metrics, increase cash flow, and reduce labor costs. Vee’s expertise in front office operations results in improved billing accuracy and collections.

Elizabeth Ward | Senior Manager

Elizabeth is an accomplished healthcare executive with 30 years’ successful senior leadership experience in the insurance, consulting, and healthcare industries. She has been recognized for designing, leading, and integrating application strategies and driving results across numerous organizations. She has led the redesign of several applications to automate decision-making and streamline processes. Her leadership has produced significant improvements in customer processes and profitability.

Before joining Texican, Elizabeth was Vice President of Operations for an advisory board with responsibility for executive oversight of the consulting division. She has worked with top-tier healthcare organizations, including McKesson (Senior Project Manager), MedAssets (Compliance Advisor), Equifax (Location Manager), and Medicare (Fee Officer). She has an impressive track record of improving business operations, managing projects, and holds CPC, CHFP, and PMP certifications and is a Six Sigma Green Belt.

Mimi Howie | Senior Manager

Mimi is a Senior Manager with 20 years’ revenue cycle operations experience in both hospital and clinical settings. Her extensive RCM expertise includes charge master maintenance and consulting, medical billing and coding, denials and appeals, and pricing impact analytics.

During her career, Mimi has implemented centralized charge capture processes for various service lines, resulting in significant gross charge impacts. She has developed CDM functions for the implementation of provider-based billing, provided educational guidance to decrease denial rates and increase collection ratios, and delivered analytics for anticipated reimbursement of proposed new service lines.

Mimi has practical experience with a variety of electronic medical records and practice management systems including GE, Epic, Athena, Medical Manager, and Allscripts. She is certified in Epic Resolute HB, Epic Single Billing Office and Charge Description Master.

Jose Morales | Senior Consultant

Jerry has over 15 years of strong experience in Accounts Receivable Management, specializing in the area of Patient Financial Services. Jose specializes in the financial services of hospital and medical practices; he has an in-depth knowledge of Business Operations. 

While managing on-site billing/collection projects, Mr. Morales is responsible for identifying and quantifying any and all related issues that affect cash flow and A/R days. His list of responsibilities on any one project may range from motivating staff to analyzing statistics and preparing presentations of results to determine and recommended next steps in all aspects. He has a talent for quickly mastering technology and is always diplomatic and tactful with professionals at all levels. 

Kelci Miller | Consultant

As a consultant at Texican, Kelci has demonstrated success in process restructure and has made a major contribution to the operational improvement of our organization. Kelci serves as a liaison between the Texican team and clients to resolve issues and outstanding problems, ensuring efficient communication between all parties.  She brings excellent organizational skills to resource management and documentation on all Texican projects.

Kelci has extensive experience in all aspects of hospital reimbursement, specializing in the identification and recovery of underpaid claims. She is highly skilled in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of products, and her goal-oriented attitude makes her a valuable asset to the team.

Everett Hayes | Senior Consultant

Everett is a Sr. Consultant with more than 15 years of cumulative experience in project management and business optimization. He has a proven record of process innovation and improvement, cost reduction, and regulatory compliance. Everett is a proactive decision maker with exceptional interpersonal skills and a high level of integrity, experienced in building trust, respect, and bringing together diverse personalities motivated to achieve optimal results. His areas of expertise include Systems Development/Innovation, Operational Management/Streamlining, Financial Analysis/Management, and Employee Development.

Before joining Texican, Everett led successful multi-hospital and physician organizations through Revenue Cycle systems implementations, resulting in minimal A/R Days increase and Cash Flow interruption. Additionally, he is a UGM presenter on the creation of semi-automated Provider Based Billing systems and workflows using EPIC systems. Everett is certified in EPIC Resolute Professional Billing, Resolute Hospital Billing, Resolute Hospital Billing Claims, Single Billing Office, and Charge Router.
